At its first meeting on April 3, the new board of directors elected the new president, vice presidents and treasurer for 2013-14.  Valeriu Nistor, country manager for IBM, was elected president, while Radu Florescu, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, and Nadia Crisan were elected vice presidents for the term. James Stewart, vice president of Raiffeisen Bank, was elected treasurer.

Nadia’s commitement to professionalism and integrity in serving members and interacting with authorities and other stakeholders mirrors what AmCham has been doing for the past 20 years, guided by its mission to represent members’ business interests and make Romania a better home for their businesses.

As the local leader of a historic American firm, I had the opportunity to see first-hand that where there is a will there is always a way and through my contribution as an AmCham Board member I would like to be a part in building a more hopeful Romania. I believe Romania is at a crucial development point, both economically and internationally, where essential decisions need to be made that will impact us and the next generations. Many of the key policies that would have helped Romania grow have been put on hold for too long and I trust the business community can play a significant role in bringing together people and solutions to help Romania build a transparent and competitive business environment that is so much needed at this point in our history. I am very interested in bringing the experience that my firm and I have acquired to  the work of the Corporate Governance, Energy and Environment, Competition and State Aid Committees as well as Trade matters that could be included for discussion in various AmCham groups.”
