Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: January – February (Virginia General Assembly Session)
Internship Responsibilities:
– Monitor and track legislative developments during the Virginia General Assembly session.
– Assist with research and analysis on legislative and regulatory issues.
– Attend committee hearings and legislative meetings.
– Prepare policy briefings, reports, and memos for internal use and clients.
– Support the McGuireWoods Consulting team in daily tasks, including client communication and administrative duties.
– Network with policymakers, industry leaders, and professionals in the public policy sector.
Qualifications:
– Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, with a focus on political science, public policy, law, or a related field.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– A keen interest in government affairs, public policy, and legislative processes.
– Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
– Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
– Previous experience in a legislative or political setting is a plus, but not required.
– Interns should be in the third or fourth year of their undergraduate program.
Compensation:
– This is a paid part-time internship. Compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
