Lauren Hund is an assistant vice president on McGuireWoods Consulting’s Illinois government relations team. Prior to joining the firm, Lauren served as the deputy director of research and appropriations for the Illinois House Republicans. In this position, she coordinated the analysis of the state budget and was responsible for driving additional legislative support and improvements impacting community mental health centers, services for the developmentally disabled and local hospitals throughout the state.

Additionally, Lauren served as the lead human services staffer and worked with legislators to write and analyze legislation and budget proposals pertaining to Medicaid and healthcare in Illinois.

Lauren graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a double major in political science and psychology. While in school, she worked for Gov. Charlie Baker on the data analysis and budget team. Lauren also worked for State Representative Alyson Sullivan where she drafted legislation for committee approval and attended committee and budget hearings.
