Joseph is an Assistant Vice President on McGuireWoods Consulting’s national infrastructure and economic development team. He leverages his local government experience to provide strategic guidance to companies across various industries, including aerospace, manufacturing, renewable energy, life sciences, food and beverage, and data centers.
Joseph has successfully supported projects across the U.S., including in Texas, Indiana, Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, Nebraska, and Alabama. His proven track record includes managing site selection analysis, incentive analysis, negotiations, and compliance, helping businesses optimize their location strategies. His expertise includes leveraging both statutory and discretionary incentives to support business growth.
Before joining McGuireWoods Consulting, Joseph served as the economic development manager for the City of Concord, North Carolina, where he supported the recruitment of over 60 projects, generating $3.5 billion in private investment. He also gained valuable experience in state and local government affairs as a communications fellow in the office of North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue, where he presented key policy research and supported the Governor’s press and constituent service offices. Additionally, as a research assistant at the UNC School of Government, Joseph focused on the diffusion of innovation across local governments.
Joseph holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University with a B.A. in political science and a minor in Spanish. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society and a proud Eagle Scout.
