COMPLIMENTARY WEBINAR
12 p.m. ET | 11 a.m. CT | 9 a.m. PT
Last month leaders of the Senate Environment and Public Works and Energy and Natural Resources Committees reached agreement on the text of the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act (BAAJA) of 2026, a sweeping proposal to reform federal permitting and energy infrastructure policy.
In this webinar, key Senate committee staff, McGuireWoods’ energy regulatory partner David Connelly and former Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner Bernard McNamee, and McGuireWoods Consulting federal energy practice co-chairs Ryan Bernstein and Bree Raum will discuss the legislation’s key provisions, including proposed changes to federal permitting and environmental review, electric transmission planning and cost allocation, and grid access and cost responsibility for data centers and other large loads.
The session will also address the bill’s status in Congress, potential implications for energy and infrastructure stakeholders, and what developers, utilities, investors and large-load customers should be watching as the legislation moves forward.
