On April 11, 2025, Law360 reported on Ryan Bernstein taking the helm of the federal public affairs team.
Bernstein takes on this position as Paul Reagan retires after 10 years of service with the firm.
Bernstein has over 18 years of experience working in the North Dakota governor’s office as well as the Senate. He also has first-hand experience working with federal energy and tax policy which are key areas of focus for the new administration.
In this role, Bernstein will prioritize growth and bipartisanship at the firm as well as working with the law firm to serve clients.
“We have a tight-knit, bipartisan working team,” Bernstein said to Law360. “Since I joined the firm, control of Congress has gone back and forth, and we have provided some stability for our clients no matter who is in power. It gives us the opportunity to work with clients on a long term basis, really get to know them and help them see around corners.”
Among his top priorities as he starts his new role, Bernstein said, is to keep McGuireWoods Consulting’s growth and success going by following the firm’s fundamentals and continuing to leverage its resources from the law firm side.
“There are more than 1,000 lawyers at the firm, and we work closely with them to help our clients,” Bernstein said. “By pooling our resources, we can navigate the intersections between law and policy.”
