WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 25, 2011) – McGuireWoods Consulting today announced the formation of a crisis and litigation communications practice area at the public affairs firm. The team will be led by former Virginia Attorney General Jerry W. Kilgore and Mark B. Hubbard, a former anchor/reporter with WWBT-12, the NBC affiliate in Richmond, Virginia.
‘In the past year Jerry and Mark have been called upon in various situations to advise clients on matters related to pending litigation as well as independent investigations. We are formalizing the expert consultation and advice they have provided these clients into a well defined practice area,’ said The Honorable L.F. The crisis and litigation communications practice area will be supported by the team of public relations and public affairs experts at McGuireWoods Consulting offices in Washington, D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Illinois.

Kilgore has assisted a variety of corporate and association clients with multi-state projects and matters before state attorneys general around the country. His work has touched a wide range of issues, including antitrust, federal-state relations, and trade industry regulation.As Virginia’s Attorney General from 2002 to 2005, Kilgore served on the Executive Committee for the National Association of Attorneys General and chaired the Republican Attorneys General Association.
Hubbard has extensive media and public affairs experience. He spent 20 years a broadcast journalist in Richmond, Portland, Oregon and Salisbury, Maryland. Prior to joining MWC, Hubbard was most recently public relations officer for the Virginia Credit Union where he oversaw the organization’s media relations, public affairs and legislative outreach efforts.
