ATLANTA – McGuireWoods Consulting announced that Zach Johnson hasjoined its Atlanta office as an assistant vice president. Johnson, who is aGeorgia Certified Procurement Associate (GCPA), will assist clients withlegislative, regulatory and procurement matters before the Georgia GeneralAssembly.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods Consulting, he served as the lobbyist for theGeorgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) with a primary focuson government procurement, state contracting and strategic sourcing. Inthat capacity, he was responsible for outreach to the Georgia GeneralAssembly, enterprise agencies, local and county governments as well as theUniversity System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia.
“He probably has one of the best procurement backgrounds of anyone inGeorgia and will be a great addition to our team,” said Ashley Groome,McGuireWoods Consulting’s senior vice president and director for stategovernment relations in Atlanta.
Johnson also served on the Georgia Technology Authority TechnologyInnovation Committee where he worked as a member of a cross-functional teamlooking at technology innovation across the entire enterprise of stategovernment. He began his career working with former Georgia State SenateMajority Whip Cecil Staton and also worked as a lobbyist for the State Barof Georgia.
