Robert served in senior and executive level positions in Texas state government for over 23 years. Most recently, he served as associate deputy comptroller for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts from for seven years and as a division director for the Comptroller for 8 years. He has experience in a wide range of areas, including economic development, statewide procurement, energy conservation, endangered species research, broadband and agency administration. He was actively involved in the agency’s legislative functions, and regularly represented the agency before the Texas legislature.
Prior to joining the Comptroller, he served as an assistant commissioner at the Texas Department of Agriculture, working on rural development and agricultural finance issues. Before joining state government, Robert spent 12 years in the commercial banking industry and two years as a manager in a diversified farm and ranch operation.
