Dec. 10, 2025, Named “Betsy Beamer Day” by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin

December 10, 2025

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin has declared Dec. 10, 2025, “Betsy Beamer Day,” to honor the McGuireWoods Consulting director of planning and organization.

The honor was bestowed by the First Lady of Virginia, Suzanne S. Youngkin, to thank Beamer for her volunteer work as the chair of the Citizen’s Advisory on Furnishing and Interpreting the Executive Mansion.

Community service is near and dear to Beamer’s heart.

“I thoroughly enjoy volunteer work and the opportunity to give back to my community,” Beamer said. “This proclamation was a wonderful surprise.”

Beamer has an extensive public service career spanning three decades with previous roles as Virginia’s Secretary of the Commonwealth, the chair of the Salvation Army and the former chair of the Crossover Healthcare Ministry.

Additionally, Beamer is an active member of her community, previously serving on the Virginia Board of Education and the board of the Virginia Access Project, as well as the board of visitors of Radford University.

A pillar of the McGuireWoods Consulting community, Beamer has held her leadership role since the firm’s founding in 1998.

“There is not a more deserving person to have a day of recognition for in Virginia than Betsy Beamer,” chairman of McGuireWoods Consulting, Mark Bowles, said. “She’s being short-changed because it’s only 24 hours. Those of us who know and work with her on a daily basis know that she’s usually the best part of any day and we’re so fortunate to have her as a part of our team leadership. Happy Betsy Beamer Day!”

Beamer continues to be an important fixture both at McGuireWoods Consulting and within her community as a whole.
