Jeremy Green is joining McGuireWoods Consulting’s federal public affairs team in Washington D.C. as a vice president.
Green brings over 10 years of experience in the areas of housing, real estate and financial services with strengths in public policy, stakeholder engagement and advocacy strategies.
In his previous role, Green served as the federal legislative representative for the National Association of Realtors (NAR), where he led the organization’s priorities before Congress and administrative agencies. He maintained connections with the organization’s 1.4 million members, worked on policy to allow veteran buyers more flexibility in the purchase process and helped create a reduction in the Federal Housing Administration’s mortgage insurance premiums.
Green joins the firm as senior vice president Ryan Bernstein takes the helm as director of the federal public affairs team. Bernstein believes that Green will provide key insights as Congress and the administration develop and implement their sweeping policy goals.
“With Congress and the administration pursuing a broad and ambitious policy agenda, Jeremy’s proven track record in crafting and executing targeted advocacy strategies will be invaluable to our clients,” Bernstein said.
McGuireWoods Consulting Chairman Mark Bowles believes the addition of Jeremy’s expertise will take the federal public affairs team to new heights.
“Jeremy’s years of experience with how Congress and the administration handle challenging issues related to financial services, tax and housing will prove to be a great benefit for our team and our clients,” Bowles said.
McGuireWoods Consulting president and CEO Gov. Jim Hodges shared a similar view.
“Our federal team has been very active in assisting clients with the navigation of the stream of developments in the new administration,” Hodges said. “His public policy acumen and deep understanding of how to engage key decision makers are invaluable assets that Jeremy brings to the table.”
Jeremy joins the team shortly after the firm welcomed vice president Mimi Bair. These additions highlight a period of growth in the firm and bring distinctive strengths to the federal affairs team.
