The Hill named McGuireWoods Consulting senior vice president Ryan Bernstein and senior advisor G. K. Butterfield to its 2024 top lobbyists list.
A respected strategist and former chief of staff to U.S. Sen. John Hoeven of North Dakota, Bernstein has nearly two decades of senior government and political experience. He assists clients with matters before Congress, regulatory agencies and the executive branch on issues ranging from agriculture, energy and transportation to appropriations and trade. This is the fifth consecutive year Bernstein appeared on the list.
Butterfield is a former justice on the North Carolina Supreme Court and a former member of Congress who represented North Carolina’s first district for more than 18 years. He is a senior advisor on McGuireWoods Consulting’s federal public affairs team.
The article noted, “The lobbyists on this list are some of the best in the business and have been go-to advocates during a year defined by unprecedented political events, legislative logjams, federal spending cut crusades and big rulemaking swings by the outgoing Biden administration. . . . Amid simmering uncertainty over [incoming President Trump’s] proposed policies including tariffs and tax reform, however, there will be no shortage of clients eager to hire top lobbyists who can help them navigate the nation’s changing Capitol.
