On July 18, 2022, McGuireWoods Consulting senior vice president Mike Andrews was quoted in a Law360 news story, “Native American Cases To Watch in 2nd Half of 2022”.
Both the Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit are hearing arguments in the coming months on significant Native American law matters. The Ninth Circuit will be hearing an en banc case looking to decide whether a consumer class action over online loans involving tribe-owned lenders must go to an arbitrator.
Mike noted that: “Parties negotiate forum clauses, arbitration, mediation, and choice of law provisions all the time in contractual matters. This case should not be treated any different.”
