Arielle Maffei, former Clinton Foundation staffer, has joined McGuireWoods Consulting’s Illinois government relations team as a vice president.
Most recently, Maffei served as vice president for a Chicago-based government affairs firm and was previously the in-house government affairs associate for a nationally recognized law firm.
She represented Illinois as an at-large delegate at the 2020 National Democratic Convention and is a member of the Illinois Women’s Institute of Leadership Class of 2020.
“Arielle’s experience and skills will enhance our client service in Chicago and throughout the state of Illinois,” said Tom Londrigan, senior vice president and director of MWC’s Illinois government relations team. “Her knowledge at the city and state levels will be a great complement to our Illinois team.”
Maffei began her political career as an intern under President Obama before moving on to the Clinton Foundation. She then transitioned to events manager at the President’s Office at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Maffei is the current president of the Young Democrats of Illinois and serves on the board of Planned Parenthood of Illinois and the Chicago Scholars’ associate board.
“Arielle’s background and board service will provide clients with direct advocacy at the state and city levels,” MWC president Gov. Jim Hodges said. “We are excited to have her join our team.”
Maffei is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and has a master’s degree in public policy and administration from Northwestern University.
