Robert Wasinger, senior vice president on McGuireWoods Consulting’s federal public affairs team, was quoted in a Sept. 17 cover story by CQ Magazine.
The story, titled The Revolving Door is Spinning as Washington Braces for Elections, explores the turnover within the Trump administration. With more transitions on track for this November, federal policy is expected to be impacted well beyond this year.
The high turnover also impacts the lobbying business, with more and more people leaving the administration and entering the private sector and demand growing for experienced officials.
However, companies and other clients still face a lack of access and insight into the administration’s policy-making, Wasinger said.
“Companies are still saying, ‘We don’t know how to get in,’ and that hasn’t changed since the beginning of this presidency,” he added. “I don’t know that they’ve adapted yet to the new paradigm.”
