McGuireWoods Consulting is pleased to announce that D. Bowen “Bo” Heath will become the new group leader of the North Carolina state government relations practice. Harry Kaplan, the former practice group leader, will transition into the role of senior advisor where he will continue to serve clients and develop new business opportunities.
“This is a well-deserved honor and speaks volumes about Bo’s contribution and importance to the North Carolina practice,” said L.F. Payne, president of McGuireWoods Consulting. “I’d also like to thank Harry for his contributions and unmatched dedication to the North Carolina practice, which has more than tripled its revenues during his tenure.”
Heath, who is also an attorney and a partner with McGuireWoods LLP, represents a diverse group of clients on a range of issues including energy, property and casualty insurance, education, gaming, healthcare and tax before the state legislature, local governments and executive branch agencies.
Kaplan joined McGuireWoods Consulting in 2007 and for the past nine years worked tirelessly to lead and grow the North Carolina practice.
“I’m very proud of, and support, Bo, who started as an intern here in 2007,” said Kaplan. “He has advanced through hard work and dedication and it is a great honor to have him become McGuireWoods Consulting’s first home-grown practice leader. I am very confident in his abilities to both successfully lead and continue to grow the North Carolina government relations practice.”
