McGuireWoods Consulting client Lidl recently announced its decision to locate its 3rd US regional headquarters and distribution facility in Cecil County, Maryland. For nearly two years, the MWC Infrastructure and Economic Development team worked with the company on site selection and incentives negotiations efforts that included potential locations in several states before settling on the Cecil County site. Incentives included grants to cover site clearing and infrastructure construction and for employee training. Previously, MWC worked on the company’s behalf to locate similar facilities in both North Carolina and Virginia as well as the company’s US headquarters which is in Arlington, Virginia. Susan Liberty and Chris Lloyd were project leads.
