RALEIGH, N.C. – McGuireWoods Consulting is pleased to announce that Governor Pat McCrory’s Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, Andy Lancaster, has joined the MWCAdvocacy team as a vice president.

“Andy has a proven track record of delivering successful results in North Carolina. His policy and campaign skillset is a strong addition to lead grassroots and advocacy efforts in North Carolina,” said Steve Horton, senior vice president and director of MWCAdvocacy. “I’m confident that his previous public-sector experience will bring about equally successful outcomes for our clients.”

In his role as Governor McCrory’s director of intergovernmental affairs, he served as the political liaison between the governor’s office and state and elected officials and community leaders.

“Andy will be a great asset to the Raleigh office,” said Harry Kaplan, senior vice president and director of North Carolina Government Relations. “Many of us have had the pleasure of working with Andy in his role with Governor McCrory. In addition to his work with MWCAdvocacy, he can assist our state government relations practice with work before the North Carolina General Assembly and other government agencies.”

In addition to his latest role in the McCrory administration, he had previously served on the governor’s transition team and as state political director of the gubernatorial campaign in 2012. He also possesses substantial marketing, communications and digital media experience.
