“Charlie has been successfully involved in Washington politics for nearly three decades and is a welcome addition to the Federal Public Affairs group,” said former Congressman and President of McGuireWoods Consulting L.F. Payne. “Her experience and understanding of critical issues related to healthcare and healthcare reform will be most valuable to our clients.”

She began her career in the Reagan Administration and has forged close relationships with members of the United States House of Representatives and Senate on both sides of the aisle and with top administration officials. Ms. Iovino has effectively represented Fortune 100 corporations on legislative and regulatory matters before Congress and administrative agencies, including during the debate on and enactment of the Affordable Care Act.

She joins the Healthcare team of McGuireWoods Consulting led by Stephanie Kennan, former Health Policy Advisor to Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) who is now Chairman of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee.

While she specializes in healthcare-related policy issues, she is well versed in matters related to pensions, insurance, taxation and international legal issues. Prior to joining McGuireWoods Consulting, Ms. Iovino owned and operated the Iovino Group, LLC, a boutique lobbying firm specializing in legislative and regulatory strategies for healthcare policy. She has also served as vice president and counsel of Aetna Inc. where she was in charge of the company’s government affairs efforts and as corporate counsel and public policy advisor for Mobil Corporation.

“Charlie’s presence will immediately bolster the DC office’s capabilities and, in particular, our ever-growing healthcare practice,” said Frank Donatelli, senior vice president and director of Federal Public Affairs.

Ms. Iovino is a graduate of the College of William & Mary and earned her J.D. from the Catholic University School of Law.
