The Board of Conservation & Recreation is responsible for advising the Governor and director of the Department of Conservation & Recreation regarding protection of the Virginia Scenic River System, advising the director on State Park master plans and substantial amendments, and reviewing requests for grants or loans pertaining to outdoor recreation and trail development.
