Paul has spent the bulk of his career in public service. He was director of communications for former Gov. Mark R. Warner from 2002 to 2006 and served as former U.S. Sen. Jim Webb’s chief of staff from 2007 through 2012. Before that, he managed staff offices for U.S. Reps. Jim Moran and was in charge of communications for former U.S. Reps. L.F. Payne, Rich Boucher and Owen Pickett.
