“Paul has been a fixture in Virginia and federal political circles for years and we are very pleased to welcome him back as a member of the Federal Public Affairs team,” said L.F. Payne, President of McGuireWoods Consulting. “Spending much of his career working with United States Congress, Paul possesses the policy expertise, contacts and genuine understanding of the legislative process to be an invaluable asset and true difference maker for our clients.”

Paul, who was previously with McGuireWoods Consulting from 2005 to 2006, has more than 30 years of experience in state and federal politics. He most recently served as chief of staff to U.S. Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) from 2006 to 2012. In that capacity he was responsible for the management and daily operations of the senator’s 46-person staff, as well as setting legislative, political and administrative policies.

“The addition of Paul Reagan to our Federal Public Affairs team immediately strengthens our capabilities and reputation here in Washington, D.C.,” said Frank Donatelli, Executive Vice President and Director of Federal Public Affairs. “Paul is well respected on both sides of the political aisle both for his ‘can-do’ demeanor and ability to solve critical issues.”

Before his first tenure with McGuireWoods Consulting, Paul was the communications director for Governor Mark Warner from 2001 to 2005 where he helped to shape the Governor’s successful message on budget, education and government reform issues. He also served as chief of staff to U.S. Congressman James P. Moran from 1996 to 2002, and was communications director for U.S. Representatives L.F. Payne, Rick Boucher and Owen Pickett. Paul also spent time as counsel to the House Science Subcommittee from 1993 to 1995 under its chairman, Representative Rick Boucher.
