“It is a tremendous honor to receive this appointment and I look forward to fulfilling my duties to the Code Commission as well as to the citizens of Virginia,” said Nolen, who once filled the role of Chief Counsel to the Attorney General of Virginia.

The Virginia Code Commission is charged with the responsibility of publishing and maintaining a Code of the general and permanent statutes of the Commonwealth. The Commission also has the responsibility of publishing and maintaining the Virginia Administrative Code.

Nolen joins Senators Ryan McDougle and John Edwards and House members Gregory Habeeb and James LeMunyon on the Committee. Rounding out the citizen members are former state Senator Robert Calhoun, former House member Thomas Moncure, Jr., Circuit Court judges Charles Sharp and Patricia Lee West, and E.M. Miller.

“We in Virginia are blessed by active and civic-minded citizens who give of their time, talent and insight for the betterment of the entire Commonwealth,” said Howell in a press release. “Through the hard work of our citizens and citizen legislators, Virginia remains one of the best run states in the country. I want to personally thank all of these individuals for their service to the Commonwealth.”
