Yesterday, Governor McDonnell announced that the Virginia Department of Transportation and Elizabeth River Crossings (ERC) have reached financial close on the Midtown Tunnel project in Hampton Roads.  Construction is set to begin this fall.  A comprehensive agreement valued at $2.1 billion was signed in December.

Chris Lloyd and Tracy Baynard with the MWC Infrastructure and Economic Development team have worked with ERC on the project since 2008. Mike Reynold and Charles Kelley with the Grassroots & Issue Management team executed a grassroots and online advocacy program to raise community awareness about the project.
