RICHMOND, Va. — McGuireWoods Consulting announced today that Charles M. Kelley, who served as the Deputy State Director of the Virginia chapter of Americans for Prosperity (AFP) until earlier this year, has joined the firm as a Digital Media Specialist.
Kelley will lend his broad expertise in campaign organization and management to the firm’s Grassroots and Issue Management practice. In addition, his experience gained through starting and developing his own web and digital media consulting firm here in Richmond will allow the firm to expand and enhance the amount and scope of digital, web and social media services it offers.
“Charles’ political and issue management experience will provide added depth for our clients,” said Stephen A. Horton, director of McGuireWoods Consulting’s Grassroots and Issue Management team. “His digital media skills will help our clients around the country to supplement and drive issue management and digital media programs.”
Prior to serving with AFP, Kelley oversaw Delegate Ben Cline’s 2009 successful re-election bid and worked as his legislative advisor during the 2009 and 2010 legislative sessions, in addition to serving as the executive director of the Joint Legislative Conservative Caucus, which was co-chaired by Cline. Prior to his opportunities with Delegate Cline, he also worked on Bob McDonnell’s successful Governor’s race.
