“We are excited to welcome Stephanie Kennan to our Federal practice,” said L.F. Payne, president of McGuireWoods Consulting and a former member of the U.S. Congress. “Stephanie’s arrival coincides with our strategic plan to add depth and experience to our growing healthcare team.”

Prior to joining McGuireWoods Consulting, Ms. Kennan was a senior policy advisor at Alston and Bird, LLP where she provided policy and strategic advice to clients focused on insurance reform, Medicare provider payments, Medicare Advantage plans, drug reimbursement, health information technology, and Medicaid issues. Her experience also includes working for 10 years as Sen. Ron Wyden’s (D-OR) senior health policy advisor where she managed his extensive healthcare agenda.

“Stephanie has been on and off the Hill in a number of different capacities for nearly 25 years and her experience and familiarity with healthcare issues and the federal legislative and regulatory process will serve our clients well,” said Frank Donatelli, senior vice president and director of the Federal Public Affairs practice. “She possesses the knowledge and savvy necessary to work with clients, legislators and staff to accomplish a common goal.”

Ms. Kennan has also held a number of other positions related to healthcare. She served as Director of Federal Government Relations for the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Assistant Director of Government Relations for The American College of Emergency Physicians and as a legislative representative to AARP.
