In a news release issued today, Governor McDonnell called Finkbeiner “a long time friend and a trusted advisor. His insights and perspective always have been, and will continue to be greatly appreciated and valued by myself and our Administration.” The news release highlighted the McDonnell Administration’s impressive policy achievements during the two legislative sessions when Finkbeiner spearheaded the Governor’s legislative and policy initiatives as Senior Advisor. “We are pleased to welcome Eric Finkbeiner back to McGuireWoods after his very productive stint as Senior Advisor to the Governor,” commented Frank Atkinson, chairman of McGuireWoods Consulting. “Eric has a wealth of experience and contacts around the country from serving Gov. McDonnell and his predecessors in a variety of high-level roles. He will continue to work with Republican Governors and their senior staffs in his new capacity at McGuireWoods, and this will be of great value as we serve clients in state capitals nationwide.”
“We have a long and cherished tradition of public service at McGuireWoods; it is one of the ways we give back to the community,” added Richard Cullen, chairman of the McGuireWoods law firm and a former Virginia attorney general. “It’s a great honor to serve your fellow citizens and often a great sacrifice as well. Eric answered Governor McDonnell’s call back in the 2009 campaign and has worked tirelessly for the success of his policy agenda since then. We are proud of Eric’s service and the positive impact it will have on the people of Virginia through the Governor’s achievements.”
“I look forward to rejoining my former colleagues at McGuireWoods and taking on new challenges and opportunities,” responded Finkbeiner. “I know of no group of people more committed to achieving positive solutions for their clients or more dedicated to serving the larger community.”
