Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, Warren Buffett, CEO of Birkshire Hathaway Inc., Jeff Immelt, CEO of General Electric, Energy Secretary Steven Chu and Barry Diller, Chairman and CEO of IAC, Expedia, Inc and Live Nation Entertainment, were just a few of the speakers addressing more than 2,800 registered attendees.
 
Breakout sessions dealt with a wide range of issues including Federal Economic Development Initiatives, Transmission in Montana, The Chicken or the Egg in Wind Development, Equity Financing, Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law, Enhanced Oil Recovery, Carbon Capture and Storage and Coal and Innovative Healthcare Product Companies to name a few.
 
Ambassador Demetrios Marantis, Deputy United States Trade Representative hosted a panel of Ambassadors from Chile, China, Ireland, Japan and New Zealand, all members of APEC. Montana will be host to the 2011 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Trade Ministers in Big Sky. Senator Baucus introduced the Ambassadors to Montana’s Agriculture, Manufacturing and Tourism as they traveled the state for 10 days.
