Revisions to the ordinance include increasing the setback for nonparticipating property owners from 1,000 to 1,320 feet; additional tower identification; shadwo flicker; environmental impacts; and avian and wildlife impact.

Other revisions adopted in May 2010 by the County’s Transportation Building and Techonology Committee include: Setting back turbines at least 1,500 feet from the property line of any school district property; the submission of a shadow flicker plan from any companies proposing to install commerical wind generators; and a definite process arrangement for applications, review and approval of future win projects.
