CHICAGO– McGuireWoods Consulting (MWC) is pleased to announce that John Dunn has joined its Chicago office.  He joins the firm as a Senior Vice President in the State Government Relations group where he will assist clients with national, state and local lobbying efforts.

Tom Londrigan, Senior Vice President and Director of Illinois Government Relations added “John brings a wealth of experience at the local, state and federal level; has solid relationships with multiple governmental agencies, legislators and lobbyists; and has worked on the biggest projects the city of Chicago has undertaken over the last decade.”
 
Prior to joining MWC, Dunn served eight years in Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley’s office, most recently as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs.  Prior to that, he served as the director of the Mayor’s Springfield legislative team. As Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, he counseled Mayor Daley as a policy advisor on all legislative and political matters, and served as the liaison between the Mayor and federal, state and local elected officials. Mr. Dunn worked on legislation enabling the O’Hare Airport expansion and public/private partnerships, including the Skyway, MidwayAirport and parking meters.
 
Before working in the Mayor’s office, Dunn worked at AT&T as a senior attorney, and at the firms of Freeborn & Peters and Jenner & Block as a litigation associate. Dunn also served four years in the United States Navy rising to the rank of lieutenant before leaving the service in 1989.
