Virginia Governor Tim Kaine announced that Science Applications International (SAIC) is moving its corporate headquarters to Fairfax County, Virginia.  SAIC is a scientific, engineering, and technology applications company with 45,000 employees, including 17,500 employees in the Washington, D.C. area.  The company will invest $25 million and expects to create 1,200 new jobs over the next three years.

Chris Lloyd and Susan Liberty with the McGuireWoods Consulting Infrastructure and Economic Development team led the economic incentives negotiations for SAIC.  Governor Kaine approved a $1.5 million Governor’s Opportunity Fund grant and $7 million in Virginia Economic Development Incentive Grant funds for the project.  The company will also benefit from training assistance through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
