The Federation of Virginia Food Banks announced today its inclusion in the 2009 state budget for a $1 million grant to purchase food for Virginia’s seven food banks. Today, Governor Kaine stressed the importance of food banks as a safety net for people suffering from hunger, now compounded by a worsening economy.
