RICHMOND, Va. – McGuireWoods LLP announced today that the firm and its subsidiary McGuireWoods Consulting will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit the American Red Cross at this week’s Republican National Convention in St. Paul, MN.

The firm was originally hosting an after-hours reception at Nye’s Polonaise Room in downtown Minneapolis on September 2, but after the Hurricane Gustav made landfall along the gulf coast, organizers decided to turn the event into a fundraiser with donations given at the door being sent directly to the American Red Cross, which is aiding in relief efforts for victims of the hurricane.

The event, which is being co-sponsored by Novartis, Waste Management, Inc., Maersk, and CompTIA, will feature invited guests former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Virginia Governor and Senator George Allen, former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele, as well as Governors, Attorneys General as well as state and local leaders from throughout the country.
