Frank J. Donatelli, Executive Vice President of McGuireWoods Consulting, the public affairs subsidiary of McGuireWoods LLP, was today named Deputy Chairman of the Republican National Committee. Donatelli, who served as political director in the administration of President Ronald Reagan, will be a principal liaison between the RNC and the presidential campaign of Senator John McCain.

“Frank’s appointment to this important post at the RNC continues McGuireWoods’ long and rich tradition of bipartisan participation in the public life of our country,” said Richard Cullen, Chairman of McGuireWoods LLP. “We congratulate him and wish him well.”

As RNC Deputy Chairman, Donatelli will be responsible for coordinating the joint fundraising, political organizing and voter contact programs of the RNC and the McCain campaign. He will take a leave of absence from McGuireWoods Consulting through the 2008 election.

“The committees of both parties play an indispensable role in the success of a presidential campaign,” said L. F. Payne, Jr., President of McGuireWoods Consulting and a former Democratic member of Congress from Virginia. “Frank’s experience in and out of government, his keen insight and good judgment, which have been so valuable to MWC’s clients, make him an ideal selection to lead the RNC’s efforts in this campaign season.”
