On April 9, 2007, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford announced that Starbucks Coffee Company will construct a new coffee roasting facility in Calhoun County, South Carolina, 15 miles outside of Columbia.  When completed, 160 people will be employed in the 150,000 square foot facility.
